Pre-Treatment
How do I prepare for my treatment?
Hair length
Hair needs to be at least 2mm long in order to treat and remove. Please do not shave right before your appointment.
Remove makeup
Please remove makeup on the area that will be treated prior to coming in.
Avoid Sunburns
Sunburned skin can NOT be treated, please avoid sun exposure right before your treatment.
Do you have a pacemaker?
Please provide a doctor's note stating that you are medically cleared to get electrolysis. The frequency of the machine is 27.12mHz.
Post-Treatment Guidelines
It is important to follow all post-treatment instructions to protect your skin and allow you to follow your treatment schedule.
To DO:
Keep the area clean, you may wash with gentle soap and water.
To DO:
Ice the area to reduce redness.
To DO:
Reapply witch hazel or aftercare cream after cleaning the area.
AVOID:
Do not use moisturizers, lotions or makeup for 24-48 hours. Bacteria can grow and cause infection/irritation, agents that dry your skin will help your post-treatment skin (Witch hazel, specialized post treatment creams, dermaseptic lotions.)
AVOID:
Avoid direct sunlight without sun protection for 48 hours. Wear a hat or cover the skin if going into the sun.
AVOID:
Avoid exfoliating for the first 48 hours. After that window, exfoliating gently will help prevent ingrown hairs as new hairs grow that have not yet been treated. (See Growth Cycle)
